Quinte West Mayor John Williams said Premier Dalton McGuinty's visit on Tuesday was two-fold. They wanted to thank him for the Province's financial contribution for the YMCA as well as talk about a new project, the Marina. He said the Premier responded very favourably. "I think he liked the idea that we're planning and moving forward with different projects, so that seemed very, very positive. And again, he didn't give us the money or anything, but he did say you certainly are on my radar, and that was the purpose, to get it in front of him," he said. Mayor Williams is hoping federal and provincial governments will cover half of the $10-$12 million project.

Rookie left-hander Brad Mills pitched seven innings for his first major league win as the Blue Jays beat the Orioles 5-0. Mills says he likes pitching in close games."It's almost even a little easier to bear down and make some pitches. Sometimes on blowout its easy to lose focus, so when you're in a tight game like that, you know the game could turn on one pitch, so it's almost easier to focus and really concentrate on every pitch you make," Mills said. The 25-year-old gave up two hits over seven innings. He was then promptly sent back down to the minors after the game.

Alex Rodriguez is still waiting on home run 600. Had two hits but not the one everyone wants to see as the Yankees beat Cleveland 8-0. And, Andres Torres singled with bases loaded put the Giants ahead 10-9 over Florida in 10 innings.
