Tobacco-free environment for high school baseball

Chewing tobacco and cigarettes are on their way off the field of four local baseball teams. The teams are working together with the health unit to create a smoke-free envorinment and try to change the social stigma of smoking. Ideally they want to create the healthiest environment possible for everyone involved in sports, as well as promote the idea that smoking and tobacco use aren't normal, said Jordan Prosper, Health Promoter at Hastings and Prince Edward Health Unit. The smoke-free program affects coaches and spectators as well.
